From 1 November 2025, as part of the single largest investment in Medicare's history, the Albanese Government expanded bulk-billing incentives to all Australians and introduced a new incentive for practices that bulk bill every patient. 

These changes are expected to see 9 in 10 GP visits bulk billed by 2030, with around 4,800 fully bulk-billing practices nationwide – triple the current number.
